The pandemic hit city economies and individual businesses on a variety of fronts. Many cities have reinvigorated their economic structure and made bold decisions to get on the path to recovery.

Future of city hotspots will be defined by how communities bounce back from the scarlet letter of covid outbreaks and inject recovery funds back into the economy to create new bustling hotspots.

Conducting business outreach and data analysis will help identify industry specific assistance (both regulatory and monetary) to accelerate the road to recovery for the city and its businesses

PLANNING FOR ECONOMIC RECOVERY

  • As cities rethink the foundations of their economies they are turning to the power of data to build safer, more resilient, and smarter cities

  • To keep the economy going, many cities (big and small) pivoted quickly to make sure more city services are available online – many of which were previously only available in-person

  • Digitizing public services has tremendous potential to impact economic recovery, not only through convenient 24/7 accessibility, but also through personnel cost savings as a result of automated processing and helping companies spend less time and reducing their administrative burdens

  • The article, "Digital public services: How to achieve fast transformation at scale," includes an infographic that sums the benefits of digitizing public services.
